What We Offer

Services Provided to Students, Parents, and Communities

For Teachers & Community Organizations

Would you like to have a Financial Literacy workshop for your class or community organization?  We bring the presenters, materials, and best of all pizza and drinks!  The Extra Mile Academy (TEMA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.  We don’t charge the schools, teachers, or students for our programs.  We are fully funded by grants and donations.  We have many programs available from a one day presentation to multiple session workshops.  We tailor the program to your needs.  Our programs are presented by high school students called Ambassadors for TEMA.  Once a program is selected and date(s) set, materials are ordered and a business professional from the community is invited to attend.  This person could be an accountant, banker, financial advisor, or business owner.  They are not required to give a presentation, but to add “color” to the presentation by giving “real world” examples of the material being presented by the students.  This person is also asked to sponsor the cost of the pizza and drinks for the class.  The class is called Pizza, Pop, and Pedagogy or P3 for short. Pedagogy \ ˈpe-də-ˌgō-jē is the art, science, or profession of teaching.  There are up to four people that come to the class.  Two student Ambassadors, one representative from TEMA, and a business professionals from the community.

Do you know some students that would be good candidates to be Ambassadors for TEMA?  Take a look at the For Students page to see the process to become an Ambassador. Want more information? Click here to contact us.
